This is an original limited edition etching.
The artwork is created by acid etching the image - lines, textures, tones, etc. - into a copper plate. The incised etched out areas are then filled by hand, with a thick oil-based ink, made specially for this process. Next, the inked plate is covered by a damp sheet of special etching paper and run through a traditional etching press. The pressure transfers the inked image to the paper. There is an over-all weathered effect that is etched into the plate that gives the final print an antiqued look and irregular border. Each print pulled is then hand painted to attain the variety of colors, tones, textures to complete the artwork.
Image size is 15"X11" plus a generous paper border. This piece should be framed and under glass or acrylic. Limited edition of 200.
